Mongoose and cobra engage in fierce battle on the road in central India, crowd gathers to witness

The incident took place near a Shiva temple in Sarsed village in Harpalpur, a town in the Chhatarpur district and the video went viral on September 11.
Visuals showed a black cobra is seen attempting to cross the road when a mongoose suddenly appears, sparking a fierce fight between the two. The intense confrontation causes vehicles to halt, and people start recording the scene on their mobile phones. The video, reportedly recorded by a railway employee, shows the ongoing battle between the two creatures.
As the fight progresses, the cobra appears to be overwhelmed, while the mongoose persistently attacks it. The onlookers wait in anticipation for the battle to end. Eventually, the mongoose emerges victorious, dragging the defeated cobra into the nearby forest.
The rainy season has led to increased sightings of snakes in residential areas due to waterlogging. In a tragic turn of events, snake bites have claimed the lives of three children in Satna district, Madhya Pradesh. According to Singhpur police sources, a 17-year-old boy named Manmohan Kushwaha was bitten by a venomous snake while sleeping on the ground in Karsara village on Tuesday morning.
Despite attempts at traditional healing practices, his condition worsened, and he was taken to a hospital where he succumbed to the bite. Two other snakebite fatalities were reported in Pawaiya village under Kotar police station and Birsinghpur under Sabhapur police station, both involving young girls.
