Miscreants harass two girls by blocking their path with cars in northern India
In a disturbing incident in northern India’s Uttarakhand, two girls were harassed by ten boys who blocked their path with two cars, made lewd gestures, and followed them for 25 minutes. The Uttarakhand Police have arrested the culprits.
The incident took place near the Sacred Heart School on Mukhani Road in Haldwani on August 29.
Visuals showed a group of girls being followed at night by a car filled with several boys. The boys were harassing and teasing the girls, leaning out of the car windows to make gestures and comments. The car stayed close behind the girls, with some boys hanging halfway out of the windows, shouting and laughing, trying to intimidate and annoy them as they drove down the dark road. The headlights of the car illuminated the path, creating an unsettling atmosphere as the boys continued their harassment.
Two girls in Haldwani, Uttarakhand, experienced a terrifying ordeal when they were harassed by ten boys while returning home after watching a movie. The incident occurred late at night. The girls were followed and blocked by two cars, a black Mahindra Scorpio and a white Nios i20, both filled with youths who made lewd gestures and passed offensive comments.
A video of the incident, shared by a social media user named Prachi Joshi on ‘X’, showed the boys hanging out of the car windows, attempting to block the girls’ car and harass them. The girls described the 25-minute encounter as extremely frightening, stating that they narrowly escaped when another vehicle interrupted the harassment, allowing them to drive away.
Joshi tagged the Uttarakhand Police in her post, questioning the safety and security of women in Haldwani. Following the viral spread of the video, the Uttarakhand Police acted swiftly, identifying the accused through CCTV footage and the viral video. The police later confirmed via social media that all the boys involved had been arrested and the two cars had been seized.
