Miraculous escape for man as boundary wall collapses in heavy rains in southern India

A student narrowly escaped injury when a boundary wall collapsed during heavy rains in southern India’s Kerala.

The incident took place at Vadakara in Kozhikode on June 10.

Visuals showed a boy was walking along the edge of a boundary wall. Just as he passed by, the entire wall collapsed and crumbled. Debris and stones fell and scattered everywhere, with rubble tumbling down.

Rishal, a student of Memunda Higher Secondary School, experienced a close brush with danger when a wall on a property owned by a Kootothu native, Sarada, collapsed just seconds after he had moved away from the spot. The incident occurred amidst the heavy downpour that has been affecting the region.

Witnesses reported that Rishal had been standing near the wall and had moved away just in time. He turned around after hearing a loud noise, only to see the boundary wall crumbling to the ground. The quick-thinking student’s instincts likely saved him from potential harm.

Local residents have expressed concern over the structural integrity of older buildings and walls in the area, especially given the severity of the current monsoon season. Authorities have been alerted, and an inspection of the remaining structures in the vicinity is expected to be conducted to prevent similar incidents.

This incident underscores the importance of vigilance and timely action during adverse weather conditions, which can turn everyday situations into life-threatening ones.
