Minors caught stealing from ATM machine using plastic tape and glue in southern India

In a startling case of theft in southern India’s Telangana, minors have been apprehended for a scheme involving plastic tape and glue to steal money from ATMs.

The incident took place in Warangal district on July 3.
Visuals showed two minors nervously fidgeting with an ATM machine, applying plastic tape and Fevikwik to the money dispensing slots. Their movements were quick and furtive, as they carefully blocked the slots. After completing their tampering, they swiftly exited the room, leaving the machine set up for their scam.

According to reports, Shubham, who traveled from Uttar Pradesh to work at a clothing store, and his girlfriend were discovered using these materials to block ATM dispensing slots. The theft method was ingenious: ATM users who attempted to withdraw money found none coming out and left the machine empty-handed. After the users departed, Shubham would retrieve the money and use it for himself.

As the scam came to light, additional minors confessed to similar ATM thefts. Following a surge in complaints to bank officials, the police were alerted and arrested three suspects. However, Shubham and his girlfriend have absconded.
