Miniature artist sculpts Independence Day message on pencil lead in eastern India
As India celebrates her 77th Independence Day, L Eswar Rao, a miniature artist from eastern India’s Odisha has paid a tribute to the nation with his artwork on the lead of a pencil.
Rao is a resident of Jatni, Khordha district and he did this on August 14.
Visuals showed him at work as he chiselled the pencil to take out the lead. He ensured that a long part of the lead was out of the pencil, where he could sculpt the message on Independence Day. The work requires immense concentration and focus and a slightly wrong move can break the lead, putting all hard work done, to waste. Intricately, he then carved out the message, ’77 Independence Day’ on the lead of the pencil with the use of a blade. The alphabets were pretty precise and done with a lot of care. It also had a clenched fist right at the top.
Rao remarkably revealed that he did all of this in just one day. And through this, he wanted to convey his wishes for Indians on the auspicious occasion.
