Millet artist creates portrait of US President Donald Trump in southern India, showcases innovative technique

In a remarkable display of creativity, a renowned artist from southern India’s Andhra Pradesh crafted a portrait of US President Donald Trump using seven varieties of millet.

The incident took place in Visakhapatnam district on November 8.

Visuals showed the artist showcasing his collection of millet-based portraits of other notable figures, followed by a proud display of the portrait he created of President Trump. Later, he posed beside the artwork, sharing the intricate details of his unique creation.

According to reports, Moka Vijay Kumar, known as a “millet artist,” used his innovative technique to craft the portrait. Kumar, who works for Indian Railways, has gained attention for creating detailed portraits of prominent personalities using the humble grain. He mentioned in reports, “I have deep admiration for President Trump. To celebrate his victory, I wanted to create something truly special, and that’s how I came up with the idea of using millets for the portrait. It took me two full days to finish this artwork, and I plan to send it to President Trump as a gift.”

Vijay Kumar, who has already created portraits of around 50 famous figures, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Ratan Tata, Dr APJ Abdul Kalam, and others, was recognized for his innovative work at the G20 summit in Visakhapatnam. He was also awarded the Indian Book of Records 2024 for his groundbreaking approach to millet art.
