Medical students allegedly rob from milk van, assault owner in northern India
In a recent incident from northern India’s Rajasthan, 3 medical students were arrested after they robbed a milk van and even assaulted the owner of the van.
The incident took place near Mathuradas Mathur Hospital of Jodhpur district on July 14.
Visuals showed a group of individuals on a dusty road stopping a milk van, and forcibly seizing milk cans. They then beat the owner, damaging the van. As they sped away with the van, the milkman lay injured, abandoned on the roadside.
According to reports, the victim reported that the attackers assaulted him, stole 24 crates of milk from the vehicle, and took some money. Allegedly, around 4 a.m. on Sunday, July 14th, a group of MBBS students intercepted a milk van owned by Devendra Singh Deora on the road.
Allegedly, they harassed the driver, robbed cash from the vehicle, and fled with the van. Devendra subsequently filed a police report, resulting in a case against five individuals. So far, law enforcement has arrested three suspects in connection with the incident.
The police investigation located the van on Pal Road and seized it. The suspects have been identified as 22-year-old Vikas Vishnoi from Dhorimanna village, a final year MBBS student at Dr SN Medical College; 23-year-old Omprakash Jat from Ogala in the Sendawa police station area, a third-year student; and 22-year-old Mahesh Vishnoi from Dabar village in Guda Malani, also a third-year student. There were two additional individuals involved, one of whom is a student at AIIMS Medical College.
