Massive server glitch causes widespread chaos at airport in southern India, stranding IndiGo passengers

A major server outage at a Airport in southern India’s Karnataka has severely disrupted operations for IndiGo Airlines, causing widespread delays and leaving hundreds of passengers stranded on Saturday.

The incident took place at Kempegowda International Airport in Bengaluru on October 5.

Visuals showed the airport was crowded with a large number of passengers due to flight delays. People were gathered in long lines, waiting anxiously for their flights. The terminal was packed, with travelers sitting on the floor or leaning against walls, holding their luggage. The scene was filled with tired faces, families trying to keep calm, and business travelers checking their phones for updates.

According to reports, the issue, which began around 11 AM at Terminal 1, impacted the check-in and check-out systems, resulting in long queues and mounting frustration among passengers.

Several flights had to be rescheduled as the technical problems created bottlenecks in passenger processing, and delays in take-offs were reported. A video accessed from the airport showed hundreds of passengers standing in long queues, unable to complete their travel formalities.

IndiGo Airlines acknowledged the issue, stating that a temporary system slowdown was affecting its network nationwide. They assured passengers that their team was working swiftly to restore normalcy. However, many travelers remain stranded, awaiting updates on their rescheduled flights.

This glitch also impacted the airline’s website and bookings, further adding to the inconvenience faced by passengers.
