Massive rains submerge vehicles in northern India
Massive rains in northern India’s Delhi caused severe flooding, submerging vehicles on the road.
The incident took place on Sri Aurobindo Marg in South Delhi district and the video went viral on June 28.
Visuals showed the road being completely submerged, creating a vast, muddy expanse. Cars and huge trucks are almost entirely underwater, with only rooftops and antennas visible. Vehicles are stranded and commuting appears impossible. The relentless rainfall continues, with heavy, dark clouds dominating the sky, adding to the chaos.
According to officials from the India Meteorological Department (IMD) the Safdarjung Observatory, the capital’s primary weather station, recorded 154 mm of rain between yesterday and this morning. The IMD also stated that conditions are likely to become favorable for the southwest monsoon to advance in the capital over the next two to three days.
