Massive rainfall traps residents, NDRF teams mobilize for rescue in western India
In a recent incident in western India’s Gujarat’s  heavy rainfall has led to severe flooding trapping several residents after which NDRF and Indian Airforce came into action to rescue the trapped individuals.
The incident took place in Kalyanpur taluka of Devbhoomi Dwarka district on July 22.
Visuals showed rescue officials in action, as they airlifted the stranded individuals with utmost dedication and care. The evacuation was executed using an Indian Air Force helicopter, highlighting the officials’ commitment to ensuring the safety of those affected by the flooding.
Speaking to Newslions, Rescue officer Anupam from NDRF Vadodara Gujarat stated the situation in Kalyanpur became critical as floodwaters surged, isolating numerous people. In response, Team 06 Bn NDRF was dispatched to the affected area at 10:50 AM from their previous location. Another NDRF team departed from Khambhalia towards Kalyanpur at 12:30 PM.
Reportedly, an Indian Air Force helicopter was deployed to rescue three stranded individuals. Collector GT Pallya mentioned that with the combined efforts of the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO), Revenue Department, and State Relief Commissioner, an Air Force chopper was sent, successfully rescuing them and transporting them to Jamnagar Air Force Station. An ambulance, accompanied by the deputy mamlatdar, was dispatched to bring them to Devbhumi Dwarka, where they will be taken to a hospital in Khambhaliya for a check-up.

Per directives from the civil administration, all stranded individuals were successfully rescued by helicopter. Both NDRF teams have now arrived and are stationed at the Mamlatdar office in Kalyanpur, awaiting further instructions.
