Massive landslide unfolds during road work in northern India, workers escape as debris falls

In a dramatic incident in northern India’s Uttarakhand, workers narrowly escaped as a massive landslide occurred during road cutting on the Helang-Marwari bypass.

The incident took place in Joshimath town of Chamoli district on October 12.

Visuals showed debris and several trees falling along with the land from the mountain, turning into a massive landslide within seconds. Workers were seen running to escape as the debris created a huge cloud of dust and smoke, amplifying the terrifying scene. The aftermath revealed a construction machine completely destroyed amidst the landslide.

According to reports, a sudden landslide from the hill buried a machine at the construction site. The workers, engaged in road work, noticed the rock falling and managed to run for their lives, preventing any loss of life or property.
