Massive landslide hits in northeastern India, disrupts connectivity

A significant landslide occurred in northeastern India’s Arunachal Pradesh.

The incident took place in the remote Upper Siang district on June 15.

Visuals showed the sand and stones rumbling down the slope, flowing like water and a scary sight to witness.

According to reports the landslide struck a road stretch between the villages of Ramsing and Bomdo, situated in the district’s rugged and mountainous terrain.

Preliminary assessments by local officials have reported no casualties or property damage. Despite this, the incident has raised concerns among local authorities and residents about the region’s susceptibility to such natural disasters, particularly during the monsoon season.
