In the aftermath of the political crisis, a transitional government led by Nobel laureate Professor Muhammad Yunus is set to take office on August 8, 2024. General Wakar-uz-Zaman, the Chief of the Bangladesh Army, announced that the interim government would be sworn in at 8 PM local time. He also urged demonstrators to maintain peace until the new administration assumes control.
