Massive fire strikes major orthopedic hospital, dozens injured in blaze

The incident occurred around 8 p.m. at City Hospital, located on Trichy Road in Dindigul, Tamil Nadu on December 12.
The visual shows thick smoke and flames billowing from the building, causing panic among bystanders. Firefighters spent nearly an hour extinguishing the blaze, while rescuers used ladders to evacuate the injured and transport them to ambulances. According to reports the deceased included one child and two women. Police and fire officials stated that the victims were found unconscious in a lift and were rushed to the hospital, where they were declared dead. The remaining patients were safely evacuated and transferred to nearby facilities.
The fire was believed to have started in the reception area on the ground floor, likely due to a short circuit. The flames spread quickly, engulfing the building. Firefighters reported that the victims likely died from suffocation caused by the dense smoke.
