Massive fire sets ablaze numerous shops in northern India
A miserable fire accident has taken place in northern India’s Delhi.
The fire broke out in Marwadi Katra, Nayi Sadak on June 13.
Visuals showed the disturbing site of numerous buildings which were set ablaze by the massive fire in the evening. There was chaos across the whole locality as the locals were in distress while the firefighters were seen arriving at the market to control the situation.
According to reports, the officials have said that the firefighters were called and 14 fire tenders were sent first. However, the fire continued to rage and spread to other buildings as well and the fire kept getting worse. It was late in the evening where more 26 tenders were rushed to the spot.
According to officials, DFS Atul Garg has stated that, “Our teams were working at the site and trying to douse the flames. The fire is massive and the operation may take more time to douse the flames completely. So far, we have not received any injury to anyone”.
Reports also stated that senior DFS official Sanjay Tomar stated the “massive” fire was especially serious due to the cluster of shops present in the narrow lane.
According to reports, senior Delhi minister Atishi has expressed her concern regarding the fire. “I am in constant touch with the district administration regarding the fire incident in Chandni Chowk. It is God’s grace that no life has been lost in this incident…. In this season of scorching heat, I request all of you to not allow any possibility of short-circuit around you, take precautions, and stay safe.”
