Massive fire engulfs showroom in northern India; no casualties reported

A significant fire broke out at a clothing showroom near the Karol Bagh metro station in noethern India’s Delhi, causing panic in the bustling market area. The Delhi Fire Services (DFS) dispatched 15 fire tenders and nearly 100 firefighters to combat the blaze. Fortunately, no injuries or casualties were reported in the incident.
The incident took place near the metro station in Karol Bagh on May 20.
Visuals showed the building was on fire, with flames blazing intensely. Thick black smoke was spreading, and a crowd had gathered nearby, causing panic and confusion.
The fire, which erupted on Ajmal Khan Road, drew a large crowd of onlookers. Fire and police officials quickly evacuated nearby showrooms and shops to prevent any mishaps.
Three individuals were trapped on the top floor but were safely rescued using a ladder with the help of bystanders. “Three people were stuck on the top floor. They were taken out of the building with the help of the public using a ladder,” said Deputy Commissioner of Police (Central) M Harsha Vardhan. The fire was reported to the Delhi Police at 5:28 PM, and it took around three hours for firefighters to douse the flames.
