A devastating fire broke out at a furniture factory in western India’s Maharashtra causing significant destruction and financial losses estimated in the millions.
The incident took place at Mira Village, which is situated in the Mira-Bhayandar Municipal Corporation and the video went viral on October 1.
Visuals showed a massive fire raged in the factory, with fierce flames reaching high into the sky, engulfing everything in sight. Thick smoke billowed as firefighters battled the blaze, while police managed the crowd of local residents, all watching in shock as the building burned down, leaving behind only ashes and charred remnants.
According to reports, while the exact cause of the fire is still under investigation, preliminary reports suggest that it may have originated from firecrackers being set off nearby.
The blaze quickly spread, engulfing the entire factory and prompting an emergency response. Fire brigades from both Mira Road and the neighboring Bhayandar area rushed to the scene, battling the flames for hours to prevent further spread. Fortunately, as of now, there have been no reports of casualties or injuries.
Authorities are currently assessing the damage and investigating the cause of the fire. Local residents expressed their concerns over fire safety regulations in the area, especially given the proximity of residential neighborhoods to industrial sites.
