Massive fire engulfs bungalow in western India, suspected cylinder blast amidst blaze

A fierce fire broke out in a bungalow in western India’s Maharashtra reminiscent of a cylinder explosion, causing significant damage.
The incident took place at Bandra area of Mumbai on May 10.
Visuals showed the intense blaze hinted at a sudden explosion, resembling a cylinder blast within the premises.
In the early hours of Friday, flames erupted in a bungalow located in Mumbai’s Bandra area, sending terrifying waves across the vicinity.
Initial reports suggest the presence of an LPG gas cylinder inside the bungalow, raising speculations about the cause of the fire. While the extent of damage within the bungalow remains undisclosed, it is confirmed that the fire engulfed the first, second, and third floors, consuming electrical wiring, furniture, wooden fixtures, ceiling, and even an AC unit.
Fortunately, prompt action by the BMC and Fire Brigade prevented further escalation. Firefighters rushed to the scene upon receiving the alert and managed to bring the situation under control by around 5 AM.
As investigations continue, details regarding potential human casualties or injuries remain undisclosed. The incident serves as a stark reminder of the importance of fire safety measures in residential spaces.
