Massive fire breaks out at supermarket in western India
A massive fire engulfed a supermarket and nearby shops in western India’s Maharashtra, prompting the response of eight fire tenders. Fortunately, no casualties have been reported, and efforts are ongoing to control the blaze, which is believed to have been caused by a short circuit.
The incident took place near Hiraman Hospital in the Matenagar area of Vadgaon Sheri in Pune on September 21.
Visuals showed a fierce fire had engulfed several shops in a market area, with flames rising high and thick smoke billowing into the air. The scene was chaotic as panic spread among the people. The fire, which spread to five nearby shops, including several paper shops, prompted the rapid deployment of eight fire tenders from both Pune and PMRDA fire brigades.
Firefighters are working diligently to extinguish the flames, with efforts to cool the area still underway. According to initial reports, the fire is suspected to have been caused by a short circuit, although investigations are ongoing to confirm the exact cause.
