Massive fire breaks out at pipe warehouse in eastern India

A massive fire broke out at a pipe warehouse in eastern India’s Odisha.
This incident happened in the Gunderpur area of Sambalpur district on May 22.
Visuals captured the harrowing scenes where thick black plumes of smoke emanated from the area as the fire raged on. The monstrous fire was not only accompanied by the smoke but also a pungent smell from the burning of plastic. The fire services rushed to the spot after receiving information about this incident and began their attempts at putting out the flames.
According to a report, the task of dousing the flames wasn’t an easy one and by the time it was put out, a huge quantity of PVC pipes and other plastic materials had already been burnt. It has been learnt that the fire happened because of a short circuit, although the exact reason is yet to be ascertained. No casualties have been reported so far.
