Massive blaze engulfs two chemical factories, swift action averts tragedy
A massive fire broke out at two chemical factories, causing widespread chaos.
The incident occurred at the UK Aromatic and Chemical Company in the Boisar-Tarapur MIDC area of Palghar district, Maharashtra, on 29 December.
The Visual shows intense flames erupting from the structure, accompanied by thick black smoke billowing into the sky, emphasizing the scale of the blaze. A loud noise, likely from an explosion in the factory, was also heard. Fire brigade personnel worked tirelessly to bring the situation under control amid the turmoil.
According to reports, the fire spread to an adjacent chemical unit in Salwad Shivaji Nagar, heightening concerns. According to officials, the Palghar fire control room received a call about the incident at 5:31 pm, prompting the deployment of several fire engines and water tankers. The fire was brought under control by late evening, officials confirmed. A major disaster was averted as factory workers were swiftly evacuated, with no injuries reported.
A firefighter from the Boisar MIDC Fire Brigade told Yogesh Bangar, “The cause of the blaze is not yet known. An investigation will be conducted.”
The police have registered a case under relevant sections and have launched a probe to determine the cause of the fire.
