Masked man attempts knife-point robbery at mini ATM in southern India

A masked individual attempted to rob a mini-ATM in southern India’s Telangana by threatening with a knife. The suspect fled after the attempt, leaving local residents in shock.
The incident took place at in Gunjapadugu village, located in Manthani Mandal, Peddapalli district on October 18.
Visuals showed as the thief entered the premises with a menacing demeanor, he immediately launched an attack on the woman sitting there. Startled, she began to scream loudly in fear, her voice echoing through the space. The thief, whose face was obscured, was carrying a bag with him, presumably to collect the money he intended to steal. The chaotic scene was filled with tension, as the woman’s cries for help filled the air, adding to the sense of urgency and danger in the moment.
According to reports, the suspect, armed with a knife, entered the mini-ATM and threatened anyone in proximity, trying to carry out the heist. Local witnesses reported that the suspect’s face was concealed by a mask, making identification difficult.
The incident has sparked concerns among locals regarding safety and the need for increased security at ATMs in rural areas.
The police are reviewing nearby CCTV footage to track the masked assailant, while patrols have been increased in the region to prevent similar occurrences in the future.
