Marine constable saves intoxicated youth from drowning at beach
A near-tragic incident unfolded when three youths, reportedly intoxicated, ventured into the sea, ignoring safety warnings, but were swiftly rescued by marine constables.
The incident took place at Tummalapenta Beach in Kavali of Nellore district on December 29.
The visual shows a marine constable holding a man amidst the crashing waves, valiantly trying to bring him to safety. As the constable reaches the shoreline, another person steps in to assist, taking hold of the rescued man. Onlookers stand at a distance, watching the dramatic scene unfold with a mix of fear and anxiety.
According to reports, upon investigation, it was revealed that Vadinala Suresh, a resident of Sarvayapaleni, had visited Tummalapenta with his friends, who were employed at shrimp farms. Under the influence of alcohol, he ventured into the sea and was carried away by the strong waves. His state of intoxication rendered him unable to even call out for help.
Coastal Security Station Constable K. Govindarajulu risked his own life to save the man. However, the trio swiftly left the scene without revealing their identities or providing any further details. Beachgoers praised the constable’s exceptional bravery and selflessness, with one visitor remarking, “His courage and timely action saved lives today.”
