Maoist insurgents neutralized in fierce encounter with security forces in central India

Security forces had established a camp, and during their operation, the Maoist launched an assault on it. In response, the jawans exhibited courage and exchanged fire with the attackers in central India’s Chhattisgarh.
This incidents took place in Irakbhatti security camp in Narayanpur on June 6.

According to reports, extremists launched an attack firing country-made Barrel Grenade Launchers (BGL) on the camp, prompting a swift response from the vigilant security forces, who retaliated heavily, compelling the outlaws to retreat.
Confirming the incident, Narayanpur Superintendent of Police (SP), Prabhat Kumar, stated, “Naxalites fired four BGL rockets on the Irakbhatti security camp in Narayanpur on Wednesday. Security forces responded promptly, causing the Naxals to flee under the cover of dense forests.
Fortunately, no harm was done to the camp or personnel during the attack.” The assault on the security camp occurred amid ongoing counter-insurgency operations in the Maoist-affected areas of Narayanpur, Sukma, Dantewada, and Bijapur districts, resulting in the arrest of numerous Maoist operatives from various locations.
