Man succumbs after collision with nilgai while riding bike in northern India
A tragic incident unfolded in northern India’s Uttar Pradesh when a nilgai collided with a man riding a bike, resulting in a fatal outcome in the middle of the road.
The incident took place in front of Meethe Village Society under Inayat Nagar police station area located on the Ayodhya-Rae Bareli National Highway on April 14.
Visuals showed the man riding the bike when suddenly a nilgai came from the right and hit him. The collision was so strong that he fell a few meters away.
Mukesh Pandey, a 28-year-old resident of Vijay Pathak village in the jurisdiction of Inayat Nagar police station, was on his way from home to the Inayat Nagar market on his bike. As he approached the society near Meethe village along the Ayodhya-Rae Bareli National Highway, a young man on a bike came into view. Suddenly, there was a significant collision with a nilgai crossing the road. Both the young man and his bike were thrown into a ditch approximately 10 meters away from the road, resulting in serious injuries.
Sadly, the young man succumbed to his injuries, and the nilgai also perished at the scene. Local residents and passersby rushed to the aid of the injured youth, swiftly transporting him to the district hospital in an ambulance. However, despite efforts, the doctors at the hospital declared him dead. Subsequently, the Kotwali Nagar Police conducted a post-mortem examination on the deceased’s body.
