Man shoots at dog in northern India, police take swift action
In a shocking incident in northern India’s Uttar Pradesh a man fired his licensed revolver at a stray dog with the intent to kill.
The incident took place in the Kalyanpur area of Panki in Kanpur city on August 15.
Visuals showed the man firing his revolver at a dog that was wandering outside his home.
According to reports, the accused, identified as Devendra Pratap Singh, a resident of Panka Bahadur Nagar, fired his revolver at the dog as it wandered near his home. Fortunately, the dog managed to escape unharmed.
Panki Police Station In-Charge, Manvendra Singh, confirmed that Devendra Pratap Singh has been charged with disturbing public peace. The police have also initiated proceedings to cancel his firearm license.
The incident has sparked widespread outrage, with many condemning the misuse of a licensed weapon and the cruel act against an innocent animal. Authorities have assured that strict legal action will be taken.
