Man sets himself on fire in northern India, hospitalized in critical condition
In a tragic incident in northern India’s Uttar Pradesh, a young man doused himself in diesel set himself on fire and was rushed to Hospital, where his condition remains critical.
The incident took place in the Shivrajpur area of Kanpur on May 17.
Visuals showed the man, under the influence of alcohol, set himself on fire. His family and neighbors extinguish the flames, desperately trying to save him. Cries and sobs of family members filled the air with a sense of anguish and despair.
According to reports Pranshu, a 25-year-old resident of Ajoli in Shivrajpur and son of Rampal, has a history of alcohol addiction and frequent family disputes. According to ACP Trivedi, Pranshu’s family mentioned during questioning that he habitually consumed alcohol and often caused conflicts at home. Just two days prior, during a dispute, he had burned all the clothes in the house.
On Friday night, Pranshu took a drastic step by pouring diesel on himself and igniting it. Family members managed to extinguish the flames and immediately admitted him to the Community Health Center (CHC) in Shivrajpur. Due to the severity of his condition, the attending doctors quickly referred him to Hallett Hospital for advanced treatment.
As Pranshu receives critical care at the hospital, authorities continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding this tragic event.
