The air is tense with the sounds of the wild, and the wolf’s presence instils fear in the nearby villages, as it has been attacking children, dragging them into the depths of the jungle.
In a horrifying series of events, villages in the Mahsi Assembly constituency of Bahraich district have been gripped by fear as a man-eating wolf continues to prey on children. Over the past two months, the wolf has claimed the lives of more than six children, with the pattern of attacks causing widespread panic among the residents.
The wolf reportedly snatches children from their homes at night, with the victims’ bodies being discovered the next day in sugarcane fields or nearby areas. Despite efforts by the Forest Department to capture the predator, including placing several traps, the attacks have continued unabated. Although three wolves have been captured so far, the terror persists as the abductions and killings have not ceased.
The ongoing threat has left the villagers in a state of constant anxiety, with many fearing for the safety of their children. Authorities are intensifying their efforts to capture the remaining predator, but until then, the villages remain on high alert.
