Man drags stray dog behind scooter in southern India
In a shocking incident in southern India’s Karnataka a man has been accused of extreme cruelty towards a stray dog.

The incident took place on the road in front of Shirwa gram panchayat building in Udupi district on July 20.


Visuals showed the man tying a dog to his scooter with a sack and dragging it for kilometers. The dog was in visible pain, and onlookers were distressed and shocked by the man’s actions. Despite their attempts to stop him, the accused did not relent.

According to reports, the video of the incident went viral sparking outrage. Manjula Karkera, a member of the Prani Daya Sangha, received the video on WhatsApp and immediately identified the location as the road leading from St Mary’s Junction towards Manchal. She lodged a complaint with the police.

The police registered a case against the accused, identified as Abdul Khader from Kombugudde. Karkera’s complaint detailed the man’s cruelty and violation of driving rules, as he was not wearing a helmet.

Local residents confirmed Khader’s identity and expressed their shock at the incident. The police are investigating the case and promise to take strict action against the perpetrator.
