Visuals showed after the school roof collapsed, the rescue operation was underway. Students trapped on the upper floor were being carefully brought down one by one using a makeshift ladder, as the school’s main staircase had already collapsed. A few men were seen assisting in the rescue, ensuring each child was safely guided down the ladder and away from the damaged building. The scene was tense, with rescuers moving cautiously to prevent any further harm to the students, who were visibly shaken by the incident. The ladder served as the only lifeline to bring them down safely.
On Friday morning, a severe accident took place at Awadh Academy, a private school in Jahangirabad, Barabanki, Uttar Pradesh. During the school’s morning prayer, a part of the building’s roof unexpectedly collapsed, trapping several students under the debris. Approximately 40 students sustained injuries, with five of them reported to be in critical condition.
As soon as the roof collapsed, panic spread throughout the school. The manager of the school fled the scene immediately after the incident, abandoning the students and staff. Local residents, upon hearing the commotion, rushed to the site and launched a rescue operation. They worked tirelessly to pull the students out from under the rubble and quickly transported them to a nearby hospital for treatment.
The state’s Chief Minister, Yogi Adityanath, has taken notice of the incident and directed officials to ensure that the injured students receive the best possible medical care. He has also ordered an investigation into the cause of the collapse and the apparent negligence of the school authorities.
Local police arrived at the scene shortly after the incident and joined the ongoing rescue and relief efforts. The situation has caused widespread concern among parents and the community, prompting calls for stricter regulations and safety checks in schools across the region.
