Major drug bust in western India: $418,816.05 worth of cannabis seized by crime branch

In a significant operation, the Ahmedabad Crime Branch seized drugs worth Rs 3.5 crore (418,816.05 USD) in the state.
The incident took place in Ahemdabad city on June 22.
Visuals showed the seized boxes with the officials that caught the drugs and the dealers.
According to reports the Crime Branch intercepted several courier parcels containing high-quality synthetic-hybrid cannabis weighing 11.601 kg. These parcels, with fake addresses and contact numbers, were valued at over Rs 3 crore (around $370,000) in the international market.
A case has been registered, and further investigation is ongoing. This major development follows closely on the heels of another drug-related arrest. On Friday, Thane police detained a 25-year-old Nigerian woman named Santard Biliv Okam. She was found carrying 56.3 grams of MD crystal powder, valued at Rs 5.6 lakh (approximately $6,800).
Okam was spotted moving suspiciously in the city on Wednesday evening by the Anti-Narcotics Cell (ANC). She has been booked under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act. Authorities are currently investigating the source of the banned substance.
