Major collision in western India involving travel bus, school bus, auto-rickshaw
A dangerous three-vehicle collision was narrowly avoided in western India’s Gujarat, when a travel bus collided with a school bus and an auto-rickshaw. Fortunately, there were no casualties, and the school bus was empty at the time of the crash.
The incident took place on the Bardoli-Kadodara road near the Gangadhara Chokdi in Surat on October 9.
Visuals showed the travel bus failing to stop in time and slamming into both the auto and the school bus.
According to reports, no students were aboard the school bus during the collision, preventing a far more serious outcome. Authorities report that the vehicles involved sustained significant damage, especially the auto-rickshaw. However, no injuries or fatalities have been reported as of yet.
Local authorities attribute the crash to excessive speeding by the travel bus, and the police are investigating the incident. The CCTV footage will play a key role in determining the exact cause and accountability.
Following the accident, local residents have called for stricter traffic law enforcement, particularly focusing on speed limits. They are urging authorities to implement better safety measures on the busy road to prevent future incidents.
