Mahout lost his life after elephant runs over him in southern India
In a tragic incident, lost his life in a tragic incident involving an elephant in southern India’s Kerala.
The incident took place at TV Puram Sreerama Swami temple in Vaikom town of Kottayam district on April 3.
Visuals showed the mahouts taking care of the pachyderm. Suddenly it got wild and trampled one of the mahouts to death. When it lost control few ran away while few rushed to help the mahout. There was a sense of havoc all around.
Kunjulakshmi, the elephant in question, became uncontrollable and tragically inflicted fatal injuries on its second mahout. Despite prompt medical assistance from locals and subsequent transportation to Vaikom Taluk Hospital, the victim, Aravind, couldn’t survive his injuries.
The victim, Aravind, 26 year old, had only been working as the elephant’s second mahout for a month before the incident occurred.
