LPG cylinder on tracks nearly causes train accident in northern India, emergency brakes save lives

The incident took place in Kanpur city on September 8.
Visuals showed the railway track, dimly lit by the train’s headlights, shows an LPG cylinder lying in the center of the rails. Flammable materials, including a suspicious glass bottle and white chemical substance, are scattered near the tracks. UP police, ATS teams, and forensic experts can be seen inspecting the site, while emergency vehicles stand ready. Nervous passengers peer out of the train windows, and the air is filled with tension as officers secure the area.
According to reports, the incident occurred as the Kalindi Express approached the Shivrajpur area. Thanks to the alertness of the train’s loco pilot, emergency brakes were applied just in time, preventing a disaster. The train’s engine collided with the cylinder, which was thrown off without exploding. Investigations, including those by the ATS, are ongoing, and a case has been registered.
