Leopards roam villages in northern India, triggering panic and increased surveillance

In the northern India’s Uttar Pradesh, two villages are facing growing fear as leopards have been spotted near residential areas.
The incident took place in Pilibhit and Rampur villages of Pilibhit district on August 30.
Visuals showed the deadly canine sitting and staring amidst the crops during night time.
According to reports, these sightings have caused widespread panic among the villagers, who are now afraid to leave their homes, especially during the early morning and evening hours.
The Forest Department has responded by increasing surveillance in these regions, deploying teams to track the movements of the big cats and ensure the safety of the local population. In addition to this, the department is educating villagers on how to stay safe and avoid dangerous encounters with these wild animals.
Local authorities are urging residents to remain vigilant and report any further sightings immediately. The situation remains tense as the search for the leopards continues.
