Leopard trapped in dairy farm room after chasing dog in northern India
A leopard caused panic in northern India’s Uttarakhand as it entered a dairy farm, chasing a dog under the cover of darkness, and was subsequently trapped in a room by the quick-thinking farm workers.
The incident took place in the Bahadurabad police station area of Rohalki Kishanpur village in Haridwar district on May 31.
Visuals showed in the dark of night, a leopard chasing dog was trapped in a dairy farm room by nearby people. Inside the room, two dogs were also present, and the leopard was eyeing them. Outside, a crowd gathered, shining torches to watch the leopard. The leopard sat inside, unable to reach the dogs or escape the room.
According to reports, farm employees immediately notified the Forest Department of the incident. For an extended period, farmers in the region have been living in fear as leopard sightings have become more frequent with the onset of the summer season.
The timely response of the dairy farm workers prevented potential harm, and the authorities are expected to take further action to ensure the safety of the residents and the leopard.
