Leopard spotted by villagers in sugarcane field in northern India

In a tense incident in northern India’s Uttar Pradesh, a leopard was spotted by villagers in a sugarcane field, causing panic in the local area.

The incident took place in Chandkheda village of Moradabad district, and the video went viral on September 11.

Visuals showed the moment when the passengers in a car saw the leopard in the sugarcane field and began filming it. Startled by the presence of humans so close, the leopard roared aggressively.

According to reports, the viral video has instilled fear among the villagers, who are now guarding their homes with sticks and torches. Out of safety concerns, locals have temporarily stopped sending children to school, and farmers are avoiding the fields. In response to the viral video, the forest department has dispatched a team to capture the leopard.
