Leopard captured alive after 10 days of terror in northern India

The wildlife department successfully captured a man-eating leopard alive in northern India’s Jammu and Kashmir.

The incident took place at Zumboorpattan, Uri area of North Kashmir’s Baramulla district on June 15.

Visuals showed during a rescue operation, the team successfully captured the leopard and safely placed it inside a cage.

 

 

A member of the forest team mentioned that they had been tracking the leopard since May 22. Finally, they successfully captured the leopard today.

The leopard is suspected to be responsible for the tragic death of a four-year-old girl on June 5 in the same area. Since the incident, a massive search operation was launched, culminating in the capture today.

 

 

Local residents expressed immense relief and praised the wildlife officials for their dedicated efforts in capturing the leopard without harm.

The search operation was a collaborative effort involving the wildlife department, police, and local residents, all working together to track down the animal. The capture is expected to bring an end to the fear and anxiety that had gripped the community since the attacks began earlier this month.
