Leopard attacks worker in under-construction building, residents panic
A leopard was spotted inside an under-construction building, causing widespread panic among residents.
The incident occurred in the Amolapatty area of Nagaon district, Assam on 1 January.
The visual shows the leopard resting inside a room when a man inadvertently entered. The leopard attacked him, prompting the man to flee downstairs to save his life. He immediately alerted others about the situation, leading to heightened anxiety among the building’s occupants.
According to reports, the leopard was first noticed by a mason working on the building’s first floor. Startled by the sight, the mason quickly took a photograph of the animal and informed the building’s owner. Forest officials were subsequently notified and initiated efforts to locate and tranquilize the leopard to ensure public safety. Unfortunately, the animal vanished from the scene before it could be captured. Efforts by the Forest Department are ongoing to safely locate and relocate the leopard to prevent any potential incidents.
An official from Nagaon Police Station stated: “A leopard was spotted in the Amolapatty area on Wednesday. Forest officials are actively working to track the animal. Public access to the area has been restricted, and residents are advised to stay indoors and avoid venturing out unless necessary.”
