A landslide triggered by heavy rains buried a school bus on the Ganga to Jullang road northeastern India’s Arunachal Pradesh.

The incident took place in Itanagar city on June 29.

Visuals showed how the JCB got buried under the sand and mud also a bus got stuck in the debris due to the landslide.

According to reports, fortunately, no casualties were reported. The incident has sparked concerns about the safety of transportation routes during the ongoing monsoon season.

The landslide is part of widespread disruptions caused by relentless rain across Arunachal Pradesh. Earlier today, officials reported that many districts were cut off due to multiple landslides. A significant road stretch from Aalo to Mechukha was heavily damaged, with key areas between Roing and Pene villages affected.

Various other locations also experienced landslides. The Border Roads Organisation (BRO) has deployed workers and machinery to clear the roads. Efforts are being made to restore access, with hopes to clear the blockade by Saturday evening for light vehicles, weather permitting.

Additionally, the Pasighat-Pangin-Aalo road was damaged near Tarak village, leaving many vehicles stranded. The ongoing heavy rain continues to pose challenges for residents and travelers in the region.
