Visuals showed a woman walking home with vegetables when a man grabbed her from behind and knocked her down. She screamed loudly, and some people nearby rushed to help. The man then ran away.
A disturbing incident unfolded on the night of May 14 in Rawatpur’s M Block, where a woman was assaulted by an intoxicated man. According to the victim, she was returning home with groceries around 8 PM when an unknown inebriated man from near a liquor shop grabbed and assaulted her.
The woman resisted, but the man forcefully pushed her to the ground. Her cries for help attracted the attention of nearby passersby, causing the assailant to flee the scene. The entire episode was recorded by a nearby CCTV camera.
Rawatpur Police Station’s officer-in-charge, Ashok Kumar Saroj, confirmed that a report has been filed based on the victim’s statement. He stated, “We have registered a case and are actively searching for the suspect using the CCTV footage as evidence.”
Authorities urge anyone with information to come forward to assist in the investigation.
