In a bizarre turn of events, an injured cobra slithered into Bundelkhand Medical College’s OPD, sparking panic among patients and staff. The 4-foot-long snake, believed to have been attacked by a mongoose, was safely rescued after creating chaos in the hospital.
The incident took place at Bundelkhand Medical College in Sagar on October 23.
Visuals showed in one of the hospital wards, a snake expert was carefully attempting to catch a snake that had been spotted moving around. The expert, armed with a snake hook, patiently worked for some time to secure the snake. After considerable effort, he finally managed to catch it and safely placed the snake into a secure bag. As this tense operation unfolded, a group of security guards and curious onlookers gathered outside the ward, forming a small crowd, watching the scene with a mix of awe and anxiety.
According to reports, the reptile was first spotted by security personnel and visitors peering from the first-floor railings. Panic ensued as the injured cobra moved through the hospital, causing alarm among the people present.
Upon receiving the news, local snake rescuer Asad Khan and his team were called in. After a tense 10-minute operation, Khan successfully captured the snake. According to Asad, the cobra appeared to have been injured, possibly after an attack by a mongoose. Its decision to enter the hospital left some speculating that the snake, in a fight for survival, sought refuge in the medical facility.
Once captured, the cobra was secured and is expected to be released back into the wild. “The cobra was in bad shape when we found it, likely from a mongoose attack,” said Asad Khan, adding that the snake will be safely returned to its natural habitat.
