India’s first urban downhill MTB event concludes amidst high energy in northeastern India

In an exhilarating display of extreme sports, India’s inaugural Red Bull Urban Downhill Tlang Ruam wrapped up with immense excitement in northeastern India Mizoram

The incident took place in Aizawl district on October 29.

Visuals showed the vibrant scene, with excited participants and an enthusiastic crowd cheering them on as riders navigated challenging terrains, including staircases and sharp turns, adding intensity to the race. The event concluded with racers returning to the starting point, still brimming with excitement as the crowd cheered, celebrating the success of the thrilling contest.

According to reports, Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL) and Red Bull marked a new chapter in India’s mountain biking landscape by hosting the Red Bull Urban Downhill Tlang Ruam 2024. The event drew competitors from across Asia, with Taiwanese rider Dan C claiming victory, securing a coveted entry into South America’s Red Bull Cerro Abajo competition. Set against Aizawl’s scenic backdrop, the event underscored the rising popularity of mountain biking in India. As Hyundai’s Creta served as the official event vehicle, the collaboration with Red Bull highlighted both companies’ dedication to expanding India’s outdoor sports culture. The event featured 22 riders, guided by mountain biking champion Tomas Slavik, giving them an intense, high-caliber competition experience that showcased both international and domestic talent.
