Indian rescue team saves pregnant woman trapped by floodwaters in western India

In a swift and successful operation, India’s National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) rescued a pregnant woman trapped by floodwaters in western India’s Gujarat.

The incident took place in Valsad district on August 26.

Visuals showed the response took the ill woman inside a live boat amidst the flooded area with loads of effort while making sure the lady was still breathing in that critical condition.

Speaking to Newslions Media, Mr. Anupam of NDRF Gujarat mentioned that the woman, Deepali Valsara, aged 30, was facing a medical emergency in the village of Hanuman Bagda, where waterlogging had made the roads impassable.

Responding to the call from the district administration, NDRF’s Team 6C quickly mobilized and reached the incident site within minutes. The team started the rescue operation at 9:45 AM and successfully evacuated the woman by 10:20 AM. The rapid response of the NDRF ensured that Valsara received the urgent medical attention she needed, highlighting the critical role of disaster response teams in safeguarding lives during emergencies.
