Indian army rescues Pregnant lady after being stuck in landslide in northern India

A pregnant woman was rescued by officials of the Indian army from the 23 Rashtriya Rifles (RR) unit in northern India’s Jammu and Kashmir.

This incident took place in khari tehsil in Ramban district on May 1.

Visuals showed the officials carrying the pregnant lady using a stretcher, who was stuck in the landslide which happened due to heavy rainfall.

In a critical emergency situation, the 23 Rashtriya Rifles (RR) unit demonstrated exemplary courage and compassion by aiding a pregnant woman in reaching NH44 from Khari via Nachalana area , despite the complete blockade of the Nachilana – Khari road  due to landslides triggered by heavy rainfall in the area .

With all roads impassable, the stranded woman faced a dire predicament. Swiftly responding to the call for help from locals of Khari, the 23 RR deployed a team of dedicated professionals, including doctors and rescue personnel, to help the lady. Their timely intervention and logistical support ensured the safe transportation of the pregnant lady to NH44, from where she was taken to SDH (sub division hospital) Banihal  for medical attention and further management.
