These drills were conducted on the Lucknow-Agra expressway on April 7.
Visuals showed one of the IAF aircrafts moving on the Lucknow-Agra expressway with several officials patrolling the area. There were several locals who had gathered in the area as well as they tried to capture the moment of seeing an IAF aircraft from such a close-range on their devices. According to a report, officials closed down the Emergency Landing Facility (ELF) of the highway so that this exercise could take place from April 1 to 10.
The Gagan Shakti is an event held every five years and the drill on Sunday showcased several military aircrafts including jets, helicopters and others. It also included the MiG-21, which would not be used beyond 2025. Prior to this drill on Sunday, there was rehearsal for the same on Saturday which included the showcasing of several military aircrafts including the Sukhoi-30 MKI and helicopters like the Chinook, Tejas among others.
