IED-like object found on National Highway in northern India, traffic suspended
Traffic on the Srinagar-Baramulla national highway was temporarily suspended in northern India’s Jammu and Kashmir after an IED-like object was found.
This was found in the Pattan area on September 11.
Visuals showed the tightened security in the area after it was discovered. Security officials patrolled the whole area with there being a temporary suspension of all traffic on both sides of the highway. The object was later destroyed in a nearby field by the bomb disposal squad and there was no damage caused. According to a report, a bag was discovered by the forces at Hanjiveera on the National Highway after which the 29RR of the army, bomb disposal squad, CPRF, SSB and the Jammu and Kashmir police rushed to the spot.
