IAF aircrafts carrying moratal remains of Kuwait fire Indian victims arrives in southern India

A special Indian Air Force plane departed with the mortal remains of the 45 Indians who tragically died in the Kuwait building fire. It arrived at the Cochin International Airport around 10:30 AM today.
The incident took place in Cochin International Airport on June 14.

According to the reports, at least 49 foreign workers lost their lives, and 50 others were injured in the fire that occurred on Wednesday at a seven-storey building in the southern city of Mangaf, where 196 migrant workers were residing. The Kuwait Fire Force attributed the deadly fire to an electrical short circuit.
On Thursday, the authorities in Kuwait identified the bodies of 45 Indians and three Filipino nationals killed in the tragic fire incident in a building housing foreign workers.
Among the Indians, 23 were from Kerala, seven from Tamil Nadu, two each from Andhra Pradesh and Odisha, and one each from Bihar, Madhya Pradesh, Karnataka, West Bengal, and Uttar Pradesh.
On June 12, Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced an ex-gratia relief of Rs 2 lakh to the families of the deceased from the Prime Minister’s Relief Fund.
