Hygiene horrors unfold in eastern India as shopkeepers caught kneading street snack dough with feet
In a disturbing incident in eastern India’s Jharkhand, a video surfaced showing dough being kneaded with feet to prepare a popular street snack, causing public outrage.

The incident took place in the Garhwa district, specifically in the Majhiaon Bazar police station area, and the video went viral on October 17.

Visuals showed two men visibly kneading the dough with their feet, sparking health concerns.

According to reports, the shopkeepers confessed to using harmful substances such as Harpic and urea fertilizer to enhance the taste of the snack. Arvind Yadav, who recorded the viral video, revealed that he had a personal dispute with his cousins, Anshu and Raghavendra, and used the footage to expose them. The police are investigating a white solid substance found at the site, believed to be an alum, which is said to make water sour when dissolved. Samples of the chemicals used will be sent to a medical lab for examination.

Meanwhile, locals are demanding strict punishment for both shopkeepers and authorities are looking into the source of the white chemicals bought from a local grocery shop in Garhwa.
