Hundreds gather for Yoga Day celebration amid stunning natural backdrop in northern India

In a breathtaking display of unity and wellness, a large crowd participated in a Yoga Day session, embracing the global celebration with enthusiasm and serenity in northern India’s Jammu and Kashmir.

 

The incident took place at  LoC Teetwal in Kupwara district on June 21.

Visuals showed amidst the stunning valleys and mountains of Jammu and Kashmir, more than 100 people gathered today to celebrate Yoga Day. Participants, equipped with yoga mats, practiced yoga with great enthusiasm and energy, creating a vibrant scene of unity and wellness against the picturesque backdrop.

 

Every year, The International Yoga Day is celebrated on 21 June. The day is dedicated to promoting the health and well-being of people through yoga. It is an occasion to raise awareness about the numerous benefits of yoga. The word ‘yoga’ itself means to join or unite. It is a time to reflect on the union of the mind and body, thoughts and actions, restraint and fulfillment, and harmony between humans and nature. Celebrating Yoga Day aims to highlight the importance of yoga in maintaining a healthy body and mind, and in improving one’s overall well-being.

 

According to reports Prime Minister Narendra Modi, during his two-day visit to Jammu and Kashmir, addressed a Yoga event on the occasion of the 10th International Day of Yoga in Jammu and Kashmir’s Srinagar.

 

He led the nation’s celebration of the International Day of Yoga by participating in an event at the Sher-i-Kashmir International Conference Centre (SKICC) in Srinagar.

 

The event, took place on the banks of the picturesque Dal Lake, will witness over 7,000 participants joining PM Modi in performing yoga.

 

The celebration, marking the 10th International Day of Yoga, emphasizes the profound impact of yoga on young minds and bodies, aiming to unite thousands in the practice and promote global health and wellness. “Yoga for Self and Society,” the theme for this year, highlights yoga’s dual role in fostering individual and societal well-being, encouraging grassroots participation and the spread of yoga in rural areas.
